Journey Through The Bible
The Bible is by far the most read and probably the least understood book in history. Over the course of many centuries it was used to justify such atrocities as slavery, the subjugation of women, antisemitism, and Holy War. Ironically, it also revealed a high ethical and moral code to govern a society with justice and welfare for the powerless, inspired the most breathtaking architecture and art, and presented the mystical Keys that could open the heart and mind of humanity and usher us into a holy relationship with the immanent and transcendent Creator. So it goes without saying, that when starting out on such a journey as this, it is important to first do our best to let go of all of the baggage that we may be carrying about the Bible and seek to understand it as it was originally intended. Ours is a study that will attempt to go beyond cultural conditioning, fundamentalist interpretations, and religious dogma. Together, we will explore the Bible in its many fascinating dimensions, its varied literary landscapes, that span the heights and depths of the seen and unseen worlds with all of their wonder, horror, splendor, and beauty.
A Little About Your Guide On This Journey
John spent many decades immersing himself in the study of the Bible. With a BA in Philosophy and years spent in seminary, he learned the languages and the "tools of the trade" that enable him to draw out the many levels of meaning, hidden patterns, and secret teachings contained within these inexhaustible texts. As an ardent student of many religions and spiritual paths, John delights in drawing connections and elucidating deeper insights found in other faith traditions with those contained in the biblical record. Thus presenting an integral and open-ended approach that encourages questioning and deep discussion.

The Bible offers much in way of practical advice and instruction on how to navigate the twists and turns of life in this chaotic world. So we would be remiss if we did not glean from our studies all of the precious insights given on depth psychology, family dynamics, social and political injustice, as well as our place and purpose, as the Adamic species, within the greater cosmic Household.

From Genesis to Revelation, a cohesive narrative runs throughout all 66 books. From the misty past of lost civilizations to the culminating events at the end of history, the Bible tells a sweeping story of Paradise Lost and Paradise Found. The unified Voice within Scripture invites us on an archetypal hero's journey that will have us experience first hand what it means to participate in the regeneration and revelation of the divine Image within our DNA.
